The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has issued an official notification regarding the admission of the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). SCERT has invited online applications from eligible candidates for the Pre-Entry Test (PET) for admission to the D.El.Ed course. Candidates who are eligible as per the official admission notice can submit their online applications within the last date of application.

Eligibility Criteria for D.El.Ed Admission
Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination from recognised Boards/Councils with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra optional. (For candidates belonging to SC/ST category there will be a relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate).
Age Limit: The candidate must not be less than 18 years old and not more than 34 years old as of 1st July 2024. There will be a relaxation of 2 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST (P) and ST (H) categories.
Reservation: Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), and Person with Disability (PWD) will be as per the Reservation Policy.
Application Fee: Rs.600 (Rupees Six Hundred Only) for all categories to be paid online (Internet Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Wallet).
Admit Card: the official website of SCERT from 1st September 2024 by entering their Registration Number and Date of Birth generated during online submission of the application.
Pre-Entry Test (PET) Venue: The Venue for the Pre-Entry Test (PET) will be allocated in the District selected by the candidates during the submission of the application form, which will be indicated in the admit card of the candidates. Seats will be allotted to the selected candidates in the Teacher Education Institutes (TEls) of the District in which the candidates choose to appear for the Pre-Entry Test (PET).

Syllabus of D.El.Ed Pre-Entry Test
The State Educational Research and Training Council will conduct an entrance examination to select meritorious candidates for admission to the two-year diploma in elementary education. In this section, we have provided the syllabus of this PET exam for ease of our website users and the candidates for this exam.
The test will have two sections, Section-I and Section-II. The question pattern and marking according to these sections will be as follows.

Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Number of Questions: 100 Questions
Negative Marking: For every incorrect answer, a 0.25 mark shall be deducted from the total marks secured by the candidate. More than one answer given to a question will be treated as an incorrect answer.
